Employment:

1989-2007: Police Officer for the Arcadia Police Department, City of Arcadia, California.   Eight years of patrol experience investigating an average of 100 traffic collisions per year totaling 800 collisions.  Ten years as a Traffic Investigator (Detective) responsible for reviewing, analyzing, investigating, or reconstructing approximately 900 collisions per year totaling over 8000 collisions.  I have personally reconstructed over 60 major traffic accidents of which 26 had fatalities.  I was the lead investigator of the Arcadia Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).  

1999-Present:  Professional traffic accident reconstruction specialist with over 200 cases analyzed or reconstructed.  I work civil and criminal cases, as well as, for plaintiff and defense.

CAD (Computer Aided Drafting): I am a trained specialist capable of computer drawn factual diagrams and forensic mapping using AUTOSKETCH and/or VISUAL STATEMENT.  I am also trained in the use of the math formulas available in “ARPRO RECONSTRUCTION” software for calculating times, distances, speeds, and other pertinent information required to reconstruct collisions.  I have been diagramming collision scenes since 1989.  I have been reconstructing collision scenes with computer software since 1996.  I am certificated as a forensic mapper.  I have been trained in the use of SMAC simulations and creating 2D and 3D animations.

1992:   I attended a Traffic Accident Investigation course which covered the following material:  Collision scene documentation including measurements, photos, videos, and report writing. Techniques for measuring and gathering evidence.

1996:   I attended a Speed From Skids and Skidmark Analysis course covering the following topics: Identification and classification of skidmarks including acceleration, deceleration, critical speed scuff, centrifugal skid, and wheel assignment. Determining roadway surface coefficients of friction. Mathematics formulas to determine speed from skids and braking efficiency.

1997:   I attended the Advanced Traffic Accident Investigation course covering the following topics:  Vehicle lamp analysis. Mathematics formulas for determining speeds on different surfaces, times, distances, collision angles of approach and departure, conservation of momentum, and the use of a motion (time/distance/speed) analysis. Advanced scene documentation using factual diagrams.  Advanced scene measuring techniques. Scene photography.  Mathematics to determine rates of acceleration, principle direction of force, vehicle orientation, kinetics, vectors, and advanced speed calculations.
